The end of Christmas time in Florence is marked by the Cavalcade of the Three Kings, a tradition renewing every Epiphany in the streets of the historic center. The event was born in 1417 and it has always been loved by the Medici family, whose male members used to take part in the parade every year.

Today as then, the Cavalcade of the Three Kings commemorates the arrival of the Three Kings to the Bethlehem grotto to give precious gifts to the new born Jesus of Nazareth. Every Epiphany the historic center of Florence relives that moment, with the Kings opening a great parade of people (about 500), all dressed in ancient and suggestive garments.
